Siem Reap Province: With the high authorization from H.E. Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism, on 28 November 2025, Mr. Chuob Ratana, Director of the Tourism Professional Training Department and Chief of Secretariat of National Committlee for Tourism Professional and Chief of Secretariat of Hoka skill Development Fund, together with Dr. Liu Yunqin, Director of the Institute of Tourism Management of the International Vocational Business College of Hunan Province, People’s Republic of China, presided over the closing ceremony of the training course on “Advanced Capacity Building for Chinese-Speaking Tourist Guides in Cambodia.”
This training was organized in collaboration with the Vocational Business College of Hunan Province and the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Cambodia. The program ran from 19 to 28 November 2025 and concluded successfully with the participation of all 50 trainees.
Dr. Liu Yunqin, Director of the Institute of Tourism Management, stated “We are delighted to see experts from China share their practical experiences in the tour-guiding industry without reservation. This is not only a transfer of knowledge and technical skills but also a new chapter in strengthening the friendship between the peoples of Cambodia and China.
I encourage all trainees to transform the knowledge gained from this course into a continuous source of motivation in your professional endeavors. We warmly welcome visits to the Hunan International Vocational Business College, to Hunan Province, and to the People’s Republic of China, and we look forward to deepening our cooperation in the future.”
Taking this opportunity, Mr. Chuob Ratana expressed his gratitude and appreciation, and highly valued the contributions of Dr. Liu Yunqin, the leadership team, professors, and specialists of the International Vocational Business College of Hunan Province. He emphasized their commitment to supporting the development of professional tourism skills, particularly the joint efforts in organizing this important training course.
Over the course of the recent ten-day training program, participants acquired a range of new knowledge, as outlined below:
1.The Chong Sa Tour Guide Association shared valuable experiences in leading a tour-guide association, along with key methodologies for guiding Chinese tourists and enhancing various related services.
2.The professor provided an updated overview of current conditions in China and highlighted emerging trends in Chinese outbound tourism in the post-COVID-19 era.
3.Metaverse technologies are rapidly advancing in China and have been implemented in various tourist destinations, facilitating interpretation and tour guiding while offering visitors enhanced experiential engagement.
4.The content of each lesson equipped tour guides and trainees with numerous additional competencies relevant to tourism companies and the tourism profession. These competencies enable tour guides to seize new opportunities in the tourism sector and further refine their professional skills in guiding tourists.
