Conclusion of the Capacity Building Training for HoKa Hospitality Trainers in Cooking
Siem Reap Province: On December 28, 2026, the closing ceremony of the Capacity Building Training for HoKa (Hospitality Kampuchea) Hospitality Trainers specializing in Culinary Arts was presided over by Mr. Chuob Ratana, Director of the Department of Tourism Vocational Training and Head of the HoKa Project Management Secretariat. He represented H.E. Pak Sokhom, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Tourism and Chairman of the HoKa Project Management Committee. Joining the presiding delegation were Mr. Kong Dara, Hospitality Training Manager of the Skills Development Program (SDP) at Swisscontact, and Mr. Sam Sophann, Master Chef Trainer and Vice President of the Cambodia Chefs Association.
The training program successfully convened 16 participants from the provinces of Pursat, Battambang, Pailin, Banteay Meanchey, Oddar Meanchey, Koh Kong, and Kampong Chhnang. Spanning a duration of four days—comprising two days of virtual instruction and two days of practical application—the initiative aimed to empower these professionals as a core human capital of Master Trainers. This qualification enables them to facilitate decentralized training programs within their respective target provinces. Notably, the trainers from these seven provinces curated a collection of 35 regional signature dishes, designed to stimulate the culinary sector and showcase provincial cultural identities.
This strategic initiative was organized by the Skills Development Program of Swisscontact Cambodia, in professional collaboration with the Seng Sophos Cooking Class in Siem Reap.
