The workshop highly commended the rapid growth of tourism in Srae Ambel District, particularly through improvements in connectivity infrastructure, including expressways and National Road No. 48 (Srae Ambel–Koh Kong), which have significantly enhanced the area’s tourism potential.
His Excellency the Secretary of State emphasized that service quality is a critical determinant of tourism competitiveness; therefore, vocational education and training in tourism and hospitality must be strengthened to adequately prepare the workforce for the increasing number of visitors.
Participants received expert presentations on the HoKa training program, the importance of participation in vocational training courses, and enrollment requirements. Constructive discussions were also conducted on the challenges associated with improving the quality of tourism services in Srae Ambel District.
Tourism operators expressed their sincere appreciation to the Ministry of Tourism and Swisscontact for organizing this important HoKa training initiative and for providing free training opportunities, which would otherwise cost between USD 450 and USD 700 per participant.
It is further noted that the HoKa Steering Committee, through the Cambodia Hospitality Training Program (HoKa), has been implemented from 2017 to 2025, during which a total of 8,461 youth nationwide have received training in priority hospitality and tourism skills aligned with labor market needs and national development strategies.
