The Second Day of Technical Consultative Workshop on the Formulation of Tourism Vocational Training Packages in Alignment with the National Qualifications Framework
The second day of the "Consultative Workshop on Reviewing and Gathering Inputs for the Development of Tourism Vocational Training Packages" concluded with significant progress. The session aimed to establish standards for Technical and Vocational Certificates (TVET) 1, 2, and 3, focusing on Front Office, Housekeeping, Food and Beverage Services, and Food Production. The workshop was attended by approximately 45 participants, including curriculum development specialists, national master trainers from vocational training institutes, and industry practitioners from various hotels and restaurants.
The primary objective of the workshop involved a rigorous examination of the proposed training packages, with a specific emphasis on Competency Standards. These standards are meticulously designed to align with the Cambodian Qualifications Framework (CQF), spanning 10 priority qualifications across the domains of Front Office, Food and Beverage Services, Housekeeping, and Food Production for Certificate levels 1, 2, and 3.
During the proceedings, stakeholders contributed critical insights to ensure the consistency and comprehensiveness of the pedagogical documents. Particular attention was paid to the precision of terminology, linguistic accuracy, and adherence to the professional tourism institutional standards and guidelines set forth by the National Training Board (NTB). Once finalized, these documents will serve as the official framework for vocational institutions, tourism industry associations, and private sector stakeholders.
The invaluable contributions provided by the subject matter experts and educators have been meticulously documented. These inputs will undergo further synthesis and refinement by the technical drafting committee to ensure the highest quality of the vocational training curriculum.
